28 die in Eritrea school protest

At least 28 people have died and 100 more injured in protests in Eritrea, an opposition official said yesterday.

Nasredin Ali, of the Red Sea Afar Democratic Organisation, said the demand by the government to control a Muslim school in Asmara, the capital, led to the clashes.
