Water colours

-

Dressed in a rainbow of brightly coloured T-shirts, thousands of competitors took part in Cambodia’s dragon boat races on the Tonle Sap river in Phnom Penh. Around 270 boats entered the event, part of the kingdom’s threeday water festival, which attracts tens of thousands of spectators. It celebrates a reversal in the river’s direction of flow – a phenomenon caused by monsoon rains bloating the larger Mekong river, forcing the waters of the Tonle Sap upstream.
