Standing to attention

Royal British Legion volunteers have planted thousands of crosses at Westminster Abbey to commemorate fallen British and Commonwealth soldiers of past conflicts in a tradition going back to 1928. There are now five other fields of remembrance across the UK with a combined total of 120,000 dedications from members of the public.
