SIR – Unlike Chris Arthur, who enjoys overhearing conversations, I find that being forced to listen to other people’s talk and loud cackles in a restaurant is boring.
This also applies to one-way shouting sessions on public transport, when one is unnecessarily informed that the caller is on the bus and the chops need taking out of the freezer.
