SIR – Prince Harry is a fine example to young people. On Sunday he will lay a wreath at the Cenotaph . He will be dressed in the uniform of the Household Cavalry. That regiment does not allow facial hair. I hope that His Royal Highness has a shave by Sunday

SIR – There is a case for Parliament to legislate for retail closure on Remembrance Sunday.

It would enhance the qualities one associates with remembrance – peace, decorum, dignity and understatement – and enable more working people to take part in Remembrance events. John Barstow
