Plea Russian spies told ‘save the world’

George Blake, the former British double agent, celebratin­g his 95th birthday today, has told Russian spies they must save us all from nuclear war and terrorism.

The ex-mi6 man, who escaped a UK prison and was smuggled into East Germany in 1966, warned them: “You face a difficult and important mission to save the world when the danger of nuclear war and self-destructio­n of humanity has again been put on the agenda by irresponsi­ble politician­s.”
