200 of arms dealer’s guns ‘may be on street’

-

An antiques firearms dealer has been found guilty of supplying illegal handguns and home-made ammunition to criminal gangs – and police say more than 200 of his weapons could still be on the streets.

Detectives seized 50,000 rounds of ammunition and guns imported or brought back into service by Paul Edmunds and said it was a “major victory” on gun crime. But while 17 pistols linked to Edmunds have been taken out of circulation, of the 280 guns imported from 2009 to 2015, the whereabouts of 207 are a mystery. Edmunds, 66, of Hardwicke, Glos, found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court, faces sentence on Dec 20.
