Girl, 14, arrested over alleged terrorist plot
A teenage girl, thought to be Britain’s youngest female terror suspect, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting terrorism.
The unnamed 14-year-old was last night in police custody after being held at an address in south London.
The arrest is understood to be linked to an alleged Islamist plot to carry out a terrorist attack in the capital.
A spokesman for Scotland Yard said the girl had been held on suspicion of assisting a person to carry out an act of terrorism, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Detectives from The Met said they were continuing their inquiries.
