Fond farewell

Michael Bond and Paddington Bear, his much-loved creation, were remembered at a service at St Paul’s. Hugh Bonneville, star of the recent Paddington film, read out messages from fans marking the life of the late author, who died in June, aged 91. Karen Jankel, Bond’s daughter, described her father as a “master of one-liners”. He penned more than 200 books with the bear from Peru, his most famous creation.
