Boys should be free to raid the dressing-up box
sir – Let boys wear tutus if they want (report, November 14).
When my daughter was five, she longed to be a boy, so for her birthday we gave her boys’ shorts and shirts. At the age of 52, she is a wonderful mother of three and a very happy wife.
Up to my late teens I, too, wanted to be a boy, but have thoroughly enjoyed being a woman, wife and mother. I am now in my eighties. Penelope Fairclough
Tattenhall, Cheshire sir – If the Archbishop of Canterbury is planning to wear a tutu at future public occasions, I would respectfully ask him to reconsider.

sir – How wonderful to know that the Church of England’s spokesman on the “tutus for boys” advice is Nigel Genders.
