Woman ‘killed after defying her husband’

-

A Mother-of-four was allegedly beaten and stabbed to death before her body was burnt after she defied her husband, a court heard.

Sinead Wooding, 26, allegedly defied Akshar Ali by seeing a friend and her family after he had “forbidden” her from doing so.

A court heard Ali, 27 and Yasmin Ahmed, 27, carried out the murder, while Ali’s mother and brother helped to dispose of Sinead’s body.

Leeds Crown Court was told Wooding’s burnt body was found in woodland in the Adel area of Leeds on May 14.

Ali and Ahmed both deny murder. Aktahr Bi, 45, of Hyde Park, Leeds, denies assisting an offender by making arrangements to dispose of Wooding’s corpse. Asim Ali, 21, of Hyde Park, Leeds, denies assisting an offender by procuring a vehicle and assisting in the disposal and burning of her body.
