£35m investment to keep passengers connected on train

POOR mobile signal and internet connection on trains is set to become a thing of the past under a £35million investment outlined yesterday.

Railway lines across Britain will benefit from a cash injection to improve the connectivi­ty of mobile devices. The Government will fund the installati­on of improved trackside infrastruc­ture along the routes.

Ernest Doku, of uswitch, said it could remove the “digital void that leaves thousands of commuters unable to work as they head into the office”.
