Question Time halted after woman collapses

Question Time was cut short last night to allow an audience member to have emergency treatment after she collapsed in the front row.

The BBC programme was halted after 40 minutes when the woman fell to the floor in front of the panel, requiring an ambulance and first aid. A member of the audience at Colchester town hall said last night that the woman fell off her seat and “collapsed on the floor”. They said she was attended to by paramedics.

After establishing that it was not safe to move her, producers ended the programme 20 minutes early.

The woman was later taken to hospital for treatment.
