Kosovo chief held over tear gas attack
Kosovo police arrested three politicians yesterday, including the popular main opposition leader, after they failed to appear in court on charges of releasing tear gas in parliament in 2015 and 2016.
The group was part of a faction that obstructed parliament for almost two years by letting off tear gas in the chamber to protest against a border deal with Montenegro and Serbia.
Vetevendosje Albin Kurti, the leader of Kosovo’s biggest opposition party, was seized by police close to the parliament building.
