Rio Tinto extends joint venture with Sinosteel

Rio Tinto has extended its joint venture with Sinosteel, agreeing to deliver an extra 10m tons of iron ore from its Pilbara mines in Western Australia to China. The venture, which is 60pc owned by the Anglo-australian miner Rio, has so far delivered more than 250m tons of iron ore to the Chinese steel maker.
