Yemen receives food shipment

The first shipment of food aid in three weeks arrived off a rebel-controlled port in western Yemen yesterday, a United Nations official said.

Abir Atifa, a spokesperson for the World Food Programme for the Middle East and North Africa region, said about 25,000 tons of wheat would be offloaded early today. Around seven million people in Yemen face famine.
