Drive to reduce plastic
SIR – Before increasing tax on singleuse plastic bottles in an effort to reduce waste (Letters, November 25), the Government needs to examine local recycling practices.
My council has no doorstep collection for plastics, so they must be taken to the local recycling centre. In my case this involves a six-mile drive. Even if one lives close to the facility, it does not accept “waste on foot”. Adrian Waller
