Harassment left MP fearing for his safety
A man has been convicted of harassing a Tory MP by accusing him of being a child abuser and a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
Matthew Offord, the Hendon MP, was left fearing for his personal safety when the allegations came at around the time of the murder of Jo Cox, the Labour MP, a court heard.
Kingsley Ezeugo, 48, from Edgware, north-west London, was found guilty of harassing Mr Offord by sending him emails and turning up at his office in north-west London. He was given 10 weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months, and made subject to a restraining order.
