Acid attacker on model and cousin admits GBH

A man who seriously injured a model on her 21st birthday and her cousin when he threw acid through their car window has admitted intentionally causing the pair grievous bodily harm.

Resham Khan and Jameel Muhktar, 37, suffered devastating scars on their faces and bodies on the morning of June 21 in Beckton, east London.

John Tomlin, 25, of nearby Canning Town, yesterday appeared in the dock at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Judge Sheelagh Canavan said the attack was “somewhat random”. Tomlin will be sentenced on Jan 26.
