Youtube inquiry into paedophilic auto-search results

- By Margi Murphy

YOUTUBE has launched an investigation after its autocomplete search function suggested paedophilic phrases.

Users reported that typing “how to have” into its search bar would suggest “s*x with your kids” and “s*x in school”.

“Earlier today our teams were alerted to this profoundly disturbing autocomplete result and we worked to quickly remove it,” a Youtube spokesman said, referring to the first result.

However, the second result continued to be shown yesterday. The existence of the asterisk in the terms suggested it appeared as a result of a campaign to avoid Youtube’s filters and deliberately skew search results.
