Migrant workers evicted in Beijing

Thousands of Beijing’s poor have been ordered to leave their homes in a campaign to force out what the government calls “low-end” people and decrease the city’s population.

Among those being evicted from the city’s smarter districts in the gentrification drive are poor rural migrants who have served snacks and noodles to office workers for decades.
