Polluting volcano

-

SIR – The Agung volcano, which is erupting in Bali (report, November 28), has been estimated to release more CO2 in one week than all the world’s planes, ships and cars emit in a year.

I am curious as to how the Greens plan to control this. Alec Gwynn

SIR – How we have progressed. In the early Seventies my application to attend a royal garden party and my further request to marry in church were both refused because I had previously divorced.

Lt Cdr Tony Collingswood RN (retd) Stockbridge, Hampshire SIR – The nation expects responsibility from the Royal family in line with Christian teaching, which it is their duty as protectors to uphold. SIR – I am saddened to report that Joe, my Norfolk terrier, unlike his royal cousins, did not instantly take to our new princess. In fact, he barked loudly when she appeared on our television.

This behaviour could, of course, be in anticipation of the torture to be endured from one additional day, at least, of fireworks in 2018. John Culling
