An army dog that dutifully raised itself aloft as its retiring trainer saluted its guard post has found fame among social media users in China. Duo Duo, a German shepherd, was being exercised when it reportedly stood up on its hind legs unprompted after Wang Xule, a dog handler, took part in the ceremony in Suqian, Jiangsu. Thousands of users on Weibo, a Chinese site, “liked” the photos, with one commenting: “Very touching, they have built a deep feeling.”
