Australian state gives blessing to euthanasia

The Australian state of Victoria has passed a euthanasia law, meaning from June 2019 any resident with a terminal illness and with less than six months to live can request a lethal dose of medication. It comes as Australia’s upper house yesterday paved the way for legalising gay marriage, following a public vote.
