SIR – I read with interest your report (November 29) on the Mayor of London’s pledge to build more public lavatories. My euphoria was, however, mitigated by his desire to make them gender-neutral.

I just want a simple, private space, free from irritating turnstiles, and easily accessible for the disabled. Lavatories are conveniences – not places for political correctness.
