Ed Sheeran a big hit as vinyl booms for Christmas

Music fans should expect vinyl records at Christmas, with more than a million LPS predicted to be sold in December.

BPI, the record labels’ association, also forecast that Divide, Ed Sheeran’s chart-topping album, could end the year as the biggest-selling album on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.

Sales of records are up by 1,472 per cent over the last decade. If they meet expectations, it would mean a rise of 26.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2016.
