Woman spared jail after stabbing abusive lover

A 20-year-old woman who slashed her boyfriend’s face with a knife has been spared jail after a judge said she was drugged and the “victim of a mentally abusive relationship”.

Stephanie Roberts attacked her lover, Ravi Benitez, 19, when she visited him at Warwick University. She had taken the anti-psychotic drug Xanax and alcohol before the incident.
