Captured in the wild
(Clockwise from below, left) Christopher Beirne, of Exeter University, won the British Ecological Society’s 2017 photography competition with a shot of an ocelot in Peru. Kent University’s Zoe Davies won also for an Alaskan brown bear hunting salmon, while student prizes went to Leejiah Dorward, of Oxford University, for a vine snake on the attack in Tanzania, and Adam Rees, of Plymouth University, for a picture of Gabon locals aiding a stranded leatherback turtle in Gabon.
