Honduras unrest after election

Protests were growing in Honduras yesterday after President Juan Orlando Hernández claimed a slim lead as votes were counted following Sunday’s election.

Salvador Nasralla, the challenger, has alleged fraud and said he will not respect the official results.

Opposition supporters staged protests and police used tear gas on activists who set up roadblocks and started fires.
