Trump’s bad tweets

sir – Donald Trump’s addiction to Twitter is both dangerous and inappropriate. Theresa May was quite correct to express her disapproval after he retweeted anti-islamic videos by the far-right group Britain First (report, November 30).

She was also right to suggest that our relationship with the US, our closest ally, is a vital one and that Mr Trump’s proposed visit to Britain should not be abandoned.

Criticism of Mrs May’s stance by Emily Thornberry, the shadow foreign secretary, is partisan political pointscoring at its very worst. David Kidd
