Two questioned over leaking of George Michael 999 call
Two people have been questioned by police over the leaking of a recording of a 999 call made when George Michael, the singer, was found dead at his home on Christmas Day last year.
The man and woman, believed to be employees of South Central Ambulance Service, were asked about releasing details of the call made by Fadi Fawaz, Michael’s boyfriend, when he found him collapsed at his home in Goring-onthames, Oxon. The call was later leaked to a national newspaper, which published Mr Fawaz’s conversation with ambulance control.
Thames Valley Police confirmed yesterday that it had interviewed two medical staff during an investigation that began last May and ended in October with no further action being taken against the pair.
“A man and a woman were voluntarily interviewed under caution as part of the investigation. No arrests were made and no further action was taken,” a police spokesman said.
