Good deed leads to £100 parking fine
A good Samaritan who pulled over to help an injured pensioner is “incensed’ after being told to pay a £100 parking fine.
Lynn Attreed, 65, pulled into a car park in Oulton Broad, near Lowestoft, and called an ambulance when she saw an 82-year-old woman collapse, and stayed by her side until the emergency services arrived.
Mrs Attread returned to her car after 16 minutes in the pay and display car park. A week later, she received a £60 fine in the post, which was increased to £100 as she challenged it with National Parking Enforcement. She said the fine was devastating “when I was just trying to help somebody in need”.
