Kirstie: Why Paddington sets a bad example

Paddington Bear is a bad role model, Kirstie Allsopp, the television presenter, has said after taking her children to see the new film.

“Took boys to see Paddington 2 tonight,” she wrote on Twitter. “We all loved it but so sad to see Paddington chucking those toffee apple wrappers.”

She added: “Plastic ends up in our oceans in huge part due to littering, yet makers of Paddington 2 thought it a good idea to show our hero littering.”

One Twitter user responded: “Personally, I can’t imagine Paddington ever dropping litter. Just not in his nature. Too polite and caring. Blame the film-makers.”
