Beady eyes

-

A great grey owl swoops over the frozen Ottawa River in Canada. Photographer Rick Dobson, a retired civil servant, said he could see his reflection in the owl’s pupils as the bird flew straight at his lens before changing course at the last second. The great grey is the world’s largest owl species by length, averaging 27in. It also has a wingspan of up to 5ft.
