SIR – On the seventh day the lemon sliced for the daily G&T was not fit for purpose (Letters, December 1).

So I began to freeze sliced lemons and limes. Each day a slice from the freezer is popped into the glass with ice, gin and tonic – a fresh citrus addition, not a seventh-day apology. Patrick Wroe
