Multi-tasking hangers
SIR – I fear I might be responsible for depleting the nation’s supply of wire coat hangers (Letters, November 25).
I use them for drying my tights, hanging suet balls for the birds, unblocking the sink, scooping out car keys from a drain, unlocking our temperamental gas-meter cupboard and attaching streamers to stop pigeons stripping my cherry tree. And, of course, they should always be kept on hand for opening the car window should the keys be locked inside. Lesley Thompson
