Father arrested after death of armed intruder

A businessman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, after an armed raider who targeted his home was killed. The 39-year-old was questioned by police after the body of a suspected intruder was discovered at the premises in Grays, Essex.

Neighbours claimed the man had been in his flat above a launderette with his wife and children when five armed men broke in. Despite arresting the man on suspicion of murder, police are exploring the possibility that he acted in self-defence. Police confirmed the dead man, who has not been named, suffered multiple injuries.
