THE COVER-UP CAPED CRUSADERS

- Charlie Gowanseglinton

Usually, it’s the dresses that get all the airtime at an A-list event. But London in December means coats on the red carpet, or, for the particularly fashion forward, capes. Livia Firth’s cape and matching dress by Brit label Osman ticked a lot of boxes, managing to be festive, patriotic, sleek and warm all at once, while Giovanna Battaglia’s green floral Richard Quinn cape/ dress hybrid served to keep her warm in the grand-but-draughty Royal Albert Hall. But our caped heroine of the evening has to be Bianca Jagger, in monochrome cape, dress, walking cane et al.
