Pair jailed for watching live child abuse

-

 Two Britons who used a streaming app to watch live child abuse were caught following an investigation by US security services.

Stephen Stott, 23, and Dean Jones, 34, were held after US homeland security discovered them accessing video conference software to watch explicit child porn together. Using 10-digit pin numbers, up to 50 people at a time would log on to a chatroom via an app to see boys and girls as young as one year being abused.

The UK National Crime Agency was alerted after Stott, from Ashton-underlyne, Greater Manchester, posted bragging messages on the site. Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, heard detectives swooped on Stott in July 2016 and discovered he had sent explicit pictures to Jones. Stott was jailed for 32 months after he admitted making and distributing indecent images, aiding and abetting the showing of indecent images and conspiracy to perform a sexual act.

Jones, from Stockport, was given nine months after admitting conspiracy to commit a sexual act and making an indecent image of a child.
