Clean getaway Officers ‘refuse chase through mud’

Police officers in Suffolk refused to chase a drunk driver across muddy field after he crashed because they did not want to dirty their uniforms, it was claimed. A witness said a Pc added after the incident in Newmarket on Saturday “it’s dark out there... and I don’t want to get muddy”. The force is investigating.
