Tourist dies after golf course lightning strike
A woman has died after being struck by lightning while playing golf with her husband on a holiday in Turkey.
Sarah Oldham, 39, from March, Cambs, suffered a cardiac arrest after being hit by a bolt of up to one billion volts of electricity as she sheltered under an umbrella in the rain.
Her husband Alex heard “an almighty crack of thunder” before seeing his wife lying unconscious. Mrs Oldham, a care home manager, died at Peterborough City Hospital with her husband at her bedside, 12 days later.
