Thief who stole 33 Royal Mail post boxes faces jail

A 37-year-old man has been told he may face jail for stealing 33 post boxes worth more than £25,000.

Mark Crowther stole the Royal Mail boxes and attempted to steal four others between 2012 and 2014.

JPS heard he struck at different locations including train stations in Wrexham, Flintshire and Shropshire.

Crowther, of Chirk, Denbighshire, appeared at Mold Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation on Friday.

He had indicated not guilty pleas at Wrexham magistrates’ court last month, but changed his plea to guilty.

Judge Niclas Parry granted him bail to return for sentence on Dec 22 and ordered a pre-sentence report.
