OK Google, please babysit my child

- By James Titcomb

GOOGLE has invented a remote babysitting service designed to tell parents when their child is alone in a room.

The firm detailed a series of “devices and methods for protecting unattended children in the home” during an emergency in a patent. It would use home security cameras, motion detectors or touch sensors to tell if an infant had been left unsupervised for more than 10 minutes, and then send a text or email to parents.

The service could isolate plug sockets if a child approached them or activate digital door locks to prevent them escaping from a room.
