Full moon myths

Insanity: full moons have been linked, without evidence, to psychotic behaviour since ancient times – the words lunacy and lunatic derive from Luna, Roman goddess of the moon.

Fertility: again, an ancient myth based on the coincidence that a full moon and menstrual cycle each occur monthly.

Insomnia: various studies have suggested a link, but their results are not robust.

Werewolves:

the transformation from man to wolf is, according to myth, triggered by the full moon.
