SIR – Your article (December 11) about Victoria Pendleton and Ben Fogle’s Everest adventure described one of their colleagues as having summited.

This is as irritating as other sporting jargon such as medalled and podiumed. We have enough words without corrupting our language even more. J E Ball

SIR – When did re-coloured photos become colourised rather than coloured? Reading one of your picture captions, I had to collectorise my thoughts. Had I mistakenised the word or imaginationised something that had not been writtenated? Could colourised be a word that I have forgottenised? Simon Simpson
