Eloise Garland is a professional singer, violinist and teacher, which is perhaps surprising, given that she began to lose her hearing 15 years ago. In this edition of The Art of Living, she discusses the ways she engages with music and sound, and meets Tarek Atoui, a Lebanese sound artist and composer who works with deaf and hearing people using instruments that enable an appreciation of music that goes beyond the aural and questions what most of us think we know about the act of listening.
