Now controversial Grenfell group warns May to stay away from service

THERESA MAY has been warned she will not be welcome at tomorrow’s Grenfell Tower memorial service after a campaign group accused her of treating survivors with “contempt”.
The service at St Paul’s Cathedral was organised to mark six months since the fire which cost the lives of 71 people. But the event has been overshadowed by a political row after it emerged that Tory councillors have been banned from attending.
Now the Justice4grenfell group, which has been accused of politicising the fire and criticised for repeating claims that up to 200 people died, has said the Prime Minister should also consider staying away. Judy Bolton, a director of Justice4grenfell, said: “She should be prepared that she will not be a welcome face because of the contempt with which her and her Cabinet have treated the survivors of Grenfell.”
However, Sandra Ruiz, who lost her niece in the blaze, said: “Obviously we will welcome her, but she will have to come and face us.”
