sir – Digital innovation is critical to the future of the NHS (“Rising numbers forced to take time off to see GP”, report, December 11).

From banking and shopping online to companies such as Uber, technology has created a new normal. The means to seek advice online from your own GP at your own convenience, without depriving the NHS of doctors or funds, is already accessible to millions of patients across Britain.
