Sergeant sacked for night shift affairs with two women

-

A POLICE sergeant has been fired after spending nearly half of his night shifts having sex with two different women.

Alan Ward, 40, from Bognor Regis, West Sussex, visited the homes of his lovers while on duty for 27 out of 56 shifts between Jan 1 and Sept 30 this year. He was caught out by professional standards officers, who found him at one woman’s address after an anonymous tip-off. On another occasion, he was spotted at the other woman’s home using the GPS on his radio.

Chief Constable Giles York ruled that Mr Ward’s actions amounted to misconduct at a hearing at Sussex Police headquarters in Lewes. Mr Ward earlier admitted gross misconduct.
