Russia navy base in Syria may grow

Russia is planning to expand its Syrian naval base to accommodate bigger ships.

Parliament will decide whether to ratify Vladimir Putin’s agreement to expand the Tartus base. It is termed a repair and refurbishment facility by Moscow, and the agreement will see its capacity increase from four to 11 medium-sized vessels after piers are built.
